why “the Aural Dustbin” you might be wondering?

well,  there are no shortage of music blogs, opinions or review sites to get lost in these days, but most of them tend to focus on “new” music, or older music that has had the benefit of being re-released.

As lifelong record buyers, listeners & general music freaks,  we feel the inundation of “the new” leaves a lot of older (by a few years or decades) albums languishing in the memories, record shelves & sometimes dollar bins of the world.

A bit like Janus, we simultainiously attempt to look forward and backward in our listening…. and occasionally sharing those impressions here of things we feel are being lost in the fold.

we might be serious listeners, but nothing here should be taken that seriously……

it is in our joy as listeners that we stumble to find words.
